Eschatology Matthias Koch

Eschatology   “It happened that a fire broke out backstage in a theater. The clown came out to inform the public. They thought it was a jest and applauded. He repeated his warning. They shouted even louder. So I think the world will come to an end amid the general applause from all the wits who believe that it is a joke.” ― Søren Kierkegaard

The project Eschatology emerged as a side product while working with the french philosopher Claude Molzino on a book and exhibition project. Alienation, the industrialization of our lives, but also death, are some of the main subjects of this portfolio. Eschatology not as the end of times, but the time of the end. The world, once familiar, becomes strange. The perceived reality is an illusion, hiding the world to come.

Eschatology is now available in an affordable edition of 20 x 20 cm Square Prints. Each print is made according exhibition quality standards on HAHNEMÜHLE FINE ART BARYTA 325G and guaranteed to last for years. All prints are inspected to ensure quality and are signed and dated on the back.

Eschatology has been published in 2016 in the German online magazine kwerfeldein.de and was in the preselection of the French photo-festival Boutographies.
